How this report was built
Credibility is the point. This first edition pulls together published research, public earnings calls, company filings, broker research, and industry surveys from 2024 to 2026 (aggregated through AlphaSense), plus our own interviews across the field, and sets it all against Atlas's framework for AI maturity in environmental consulting. We're clear throughout about what is measured data and what is our analysis.
How to read the numbers
Every figure is labeled by type. Cited figures come from named external research. Proxy figures come from adjacent sectors (most often AEC) and are flagged in context. Environmental consulting overlaps heavily with architecture and engineering, but it is not identical. Atlas estimates are our modeled working hypotheses, shown as such and never presented as survey results.
The maturity model
The AI-Native Maturity Model is our framework, a point of view shaped by the market, what the tools can do, and conversations across the field. It maps five stages against five dimensions and is the basis of the self-assessment.
A living benchmark
This is Part 1. We're gathering primary data through the self-assessment, conferences, and conversations across the industry. Once enough responses are in, Part 2 will replace our estimates with field benchmarks. Every firm that takes the assessment becomes part of that data.
